A major police investigation has been launched into the shooting of a man near a primary school.
Armed response teams were sent to the incident in Dornoch Place, Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, at about 3.10pm today.
The street is close to St Helen's Primary School and Bishopbriggs Academy, and took place as pupils left for the day but officers said no-one from the schools was involved in the incident.
Extra patrols are being carried out in the area to reassure local residents and inquiries are continuing.
