Crash Between School Bus And Car In Dumbarton

school bus has been involved in a collision with a car in West Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Renton Road in Dumbarton following the crash which happened at about 8.40am on Wednesday.

The bus driver and children have all been removed from the vehicle and are being checked over by medical staff.

Police said the driver of the car has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The road has been closed between Dalreoch station and the slip road to the A82.

The bus was travelling to Our Lady and St Patrick's High School in Dumbarton, carrying pupils from the areas of Balloch and Old Bonhill.

West Dunbartonshire Council said a number of pupils are being treated for minor injuries.

A council spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash.

"Renton Road is closed between Dalreoch station and the slip road to the A82.

"All affected parents and carers have been informed. Parents needing any information should contact the school."
