13 More Flu Deaths Confirmed

Another 13 people have died with flu in Scotland in the past week.

Health Protection Scotland said 12 of them had swine flu, while the other person had influenza B.

However, the figure is down on the previous week when 17 people with flu died.

In the week up until the 17th of January, 28 people with swine flu and one with influenza B needed intensive care treatment.

Since the beginning of the flu season, there have been 145 intensive care cases and 40 deaths, almost all of whom are understood to have been infected with swine flu.
