South Korea to make 'major announcement' on North Korea, says Trump

South Korea will make a "major statement" on North Korea at midnight, Donald Trump has said.
South Korea's national security adviser Chung Eui-yong will address reporters at the White House.
It comes after hours of consultations in Washington between US and South Korean officials over recent North-South talks.
South Korean officials were briefing the White House on Thursday on the outcome of their meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Pyongyang is open to "frank" talks with the US on denuclearisation and would suspend missile and nuclear tests while dialogue was under way, Mr Chung said after returning from a meeting with Mr Kim.
Earlier on Thursday, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that although "talks about talks" might be possible with Pyongyang, denuclearisation negotiations were likely a long way off.
