Christie's is auctioning nearly 500 lots of Audrey Hepburn's "personal world", which include clothes, film scripts and jewellery.
The famous auction house is offering for sale items from the actress used on and off screen, which include a partial script from her 1961 Truman Capote adaptation Breakfast At Tiffany's.
"You could always tell what kind of a person a man thinks you are by the earrings he gives you," Hepburn's character, Holly Golightly says in the film.
Christie's is opening Wednesday's sale with, among other items, a pair of 1980s Givenchy black enamel and paste square earrings which have been estimated at around £1,000.
The oldest item from the batch is the original suitcase with which the Belgian-born star originally arrived in the UK.
The late star's two sons, Luca Dotti and Sean Hepburn Ferrer, said they were "honoured to entrust" Christie's with the sale of their mother's possessions.
"On January 20th, 1993 we lost our mother and best friend and the world lost an enduring symbol of grace, elegance and humanity," they said.
"We preserved our feelings for her as well as all of her belongings which each signified her life's choices and philosophy.
"In an effort to include all who partake in these feelings for her, we have selected a collection of items to share with her ever-growing base of admirers."
The sale will also include original professional portraits by major photographers, the majority of which date to the early 1950s and late 1960s - at the height of Hepburn's silver screen career.
The auction is being held at Christie's King Street headquarters in London, alongside an online sale which will be open for bidding until 3 October.
