We're just around the corner from learning which stars will be looking to take home some of the biggest prizes in music. Capital has shortlisted those stars who we think are well in the running for at least one of the awards at next year's Grammys.
Her album 'Red' is the biggest selling of the year with sales of almost 4 million in the US. An Album Of The Year nod is surely on the cards for the singer who has already picked up seven prizes.
He surprised us all in 2013 with his return to music. 'Suit & Tie' started it all off, 'Mirrors' went global and there wasn't just one album but two instalments of 'The 20/20 Experience'. Album Of the Year, Record Of The Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.... this is one man who could steal the lot!
If there's one song that 2013 could be remembered by then 'Blurred Lines' has to be it. It was the summer sensation that catapulted Robin's name around the world. Although he's tasted success in the past, his Pharrell team-up showcased him to a whole new audience.
It's difficult to think of a Grammys without Hova. He's picked up a massive 17 prizes over the years with 51 nominations in total. He returned this year with 'Holy Grail...Magna Carta'' but also contributed to Justin Timberlake's 'Suit & Tie'. They're 'Holy Grail' colaboration may also be in with a shout of the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration prize.
He's already got 21 Grammys....YES TWENTY ONE!!!! This is one rapper who knows what it takes to grab a nomination or two. If he does get a nomination, let's hope he wins because we wouldn't want another awkward stage invasion would we? Hmmmmm
'Girl On Fire' and 'New Day' have been big success on the Hot 100 chart in the US and her latest album has shifted 780,000 copies. This could be the perfect chance for Alicia to add to her 14 Grammys.
The boys seem to go from strenght to strenght and even released a movie in 2013. Their album 'Take Me Home' was the third best selling of the year and deserves a place in the Best Pop Album category right? Could this be their chance to finally grab a Grammy nod?
2013 saw 'Come And Get It' hit the airwaves worldwide and fans scored her a top six single on the Hot 100 chart. The #Selenators would be one proud fan group if Selena
The past twelve months have been incredible for these two. They've won EMAs, VMAs and are just waiting for a Grammy to complete an incredible hat-trick. Don't be surprise if these two steal all the headlines the following day the nominations are announced.
'Counting Stars' would top a lot of listeneres song of the year polls and we think it could definitely be in with a chance for the Song Of Record Of The Year prizes.
It's already in many people's songs of the year and we think 'Hold On, We're Going Home' deserves a nod for the 2014 ceremony. If his new album 'Nothing Was The Same' doesn't make the shortlist for Album Of The Year, then the rest of the Best Rap Album contenders should also watch out.
'Get Lucky' is certainly among the top songs of the year and album 'Random Access Memories' also shifted 800,000 copies. They're waiting for Grammy number three and it would be a shock if that doesn't happen in 2014.
New album 'Halcyon' was a huge success in the UK but that also carried over to the US with some impact on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts. She also collaborated with Taylor Swift on stage at the US singer's Staples Center tour show. Ellie certainly deserves her first Grammy nod and 2014 might be the year it happens.
Although her new album 'Prism' isn't eligible for one of the awards, her single 'Roar' certainly is. The Song Of The Year prize wouldn't look the same without this track in the nominations.
Similar to Katy, 'ARTPOP' just misses out on the chance to bag any of the album prizes but 'Applause' could give Gaga a sixth all-time Grammy.
The success of his album '18 Months' continues to roll and the Hot 100 chart featured many notable success stories for the Scottish DJ. 'I Need Your Love', 'Sweet Nothing' and 'Let's Go' all impacted well in 2013. Surprsingly, he's only got one Grammy so far but we're sure there's more to come.
'Unorthodox Jukebox' was the fourth best selling album of the year and gave Bruno two number one singles with 'When I Was Your Man' and 'Locked Out Of Heaven'. He's already got one but will surely be itching to add to his haul and fill that trophy cabinet.
"But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom!" If 'Royals' doesn't bag Lorde her first Grammy nomination we will eat our hat. (Only a small hat though).
Don't forget about Lil Wayne. The star is no stranger to a Grammy or two. In fact, he's got four to his name already. 2013 saw over half a million sales of new album 'I Am Not a Human Being II'.
