We're just over half way through the year and we've already seen some massive anthems dominate the charts but which of this year's releases have been the most popular?
Back in February this year we got one of the most surprising team-ups when Christina Aguilera returned to our charts… as a featured artist on rising pop duo A Great Big World's hit 'Say Something'.
March saw the return of 'I Need A Dollar' star Aloe Blacc to the charts with 'The Man', which immediately stuck in people's heads thanks to it's amazing production and the inclusion of an Elton John sample. The song became a Big Top 40 number one and stayed on the chart for over 12 weeks!
Ella made her long-awaited arrival in June this year with the Ryan Tedder penned 'Ghost', immediately scoring her first number one and proving she's one to watch this year.
Jason launched 'Trumpets' in late 2013... and the song's continued to strike a chord with listeners as it's still one of the biggest hits of this year.
Calvin made sure 'Summer' well and truly arrived in June this year with his new single, from a yet-to-be-released album. It's a former number one, and ten weeks on in the chart… the clubs are still loving it!
With just under four months on the Big Top 40 and peaking at number two… it's clear everyone was LOVING Miley and Will.i.am's team-up on this dance-floor smash.
Sam Smith is the name on EVERYBODY'S lips this year, and his latest single 'Stay With Me' hit number one AND enticed Mary J Blige to duet with him. Not too shabby Mr. Smith...
The Swedish superstar DJ hit number three with his latest 'True' song at the end of last year… and clearly everyone's still loving this club-thumping track.
Sixteen weeks on and Duke is STILL on the chart with his Jax Jones team-up 'I Got U', a former Big Top 40 number one! Keep bringing those hits Duke Dumont!
It's been six months and the signature hit from Disney's Frozen is STILL a chart favourite. Altogether now: "Let it go….."
Kiesza BURST onto the scene back in April this year and immediately scored a number one with her club favourite 'Hideaway'.
Sam Smith has well and truly arrived this year, and his debut single 'Money On My Mind' hit number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 in February.
Sigma's 'Nobody To Love' dropped in April this far and quickly became a fan-favourite on the club scene for 2014.
Peaking at number four, Katy went all club-central on us with her 'Prism' single 'Dark Horse'… even calling in Juicy J for a rapping middle 8!
It's nearly five months since Route 94 and Jess Glynne swept in to the number one spot on the chart, and stayed there! They're still on the charts now so it's clear this is one of the year's MOST popular hits so far.
"Wave after wave, wave after…" You know how it goes… you've kept it on the chart for nearly 12 weeks now! Another former number one here from Mr. Probz.
'Timber' was the song this year everyone COULDN'T stop liking, and the fact that it hit number one in January AND stayed on the chart for ages proves how popular Kesha & Pitbull's team-up was.
At number three is John Legend's heartbreakingly beautiful 'All Of Me', in its twentieth week on the Big Top 40 chart and still going strong.
Just missing out on the top spot for the biggest selling songs of 2014 so far, it's Clean Bandit's breakthrough hit 'Rather Be', with over six months on the chart and a former number one. This could well be the song of the year!
The top-selling song of 2014... could it really be anything else? From hilarious Internet parodies to global news coverage, Pharrell's hit single 'Happy' may have started out as a soundtrack song to Despicable Me 2, but it's gone on to become SO much more!
