Scottish singer Emeli Sande has told Capital it feels "really cool" to be up for the prize of Best British Single with Capital FM at this year's BRIT awards, with not one but two of her hit singles.
The star has been nominated for four awards at this year's ceremony: Mastercard British Album Of The Year ('Our Version Of Events'), Best British Single with Capital FM ('Next To Me' and Labrinth feat. Emeli Sande 'Beneath Your Beautiful'), and British Female Solo Artist.
She won The Critic's Choice award at last year's event, and reminded Capital that "a lot can happen in a year".
Many other artists join Emeli in the Best British Single with Capital FM Category, but the star told Max she wouldn't feel too bad not winning the prize as "it's not like you're going to lose to something that isn't good".
Emeli enjoyed an action packed 2012, performing at both the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, and her album 'Our Version Of Events' topped the iTunes 'Most Downloaded' chart of the year.
