Luke Smith
Meet Luke Smith - the fresh faced new scamp on the block at Capital. We grabbed five minutes of his time, so he could introduce himself to you lovely people, so may we present to you, Mr. Luke Smith.
Hi, I'm Luke, the new guy at Capital FM!
Although new to the station, I'm no stranger to London being born and bred in the east end and listening to Capital every morning in the back of my dad’s London Taxi on the drive from home in Tower Hill, along the Embankment to my school in Victoria.
As well as working at Capital, I also DJ in clubs. Being on the radio is great fun, but there’s something very special about seeing the reaction of a crowd immediately (something you don’t get in a studio), plus in a club I can play as many of people's favourite hit tracks as possible - the crowds are usually electric!
Also, if you listen carefully on some TV stations you may hear my voice in between programmes in the week, or on adverts. More recently I've been the very strange voice of a particular cartoon and computer game character.
I love cinema and theatre, and can often be found in Leicester Square with my cinema pass. My favourite type of film has to be a good thriller. I will never turn down a ticket to a decent gig either... Live music is great as long as the night starts with a meal out as eating is unofficially my other hobby. My favourite type of food? Chinese. There’s certainly enough Chinese Restaurants around the city! Duck…mmm. Shame I don't go to the gym quite enough to work it all off! (Isn't duck one of the fattiest foods?)
If you want to get a song on, or even just have a chat, please call me during my show on 0207 48 48 958, text me on 83958, or send me an e-mail: luke.smith@capitalfm.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
