  5. I think Lisa and Johnny are: "PopFantasticTremendousFun". They tick all the buttons for me. Especially as Johnny is so patriotic. He makes me feel so proud to be English!

You are silly and serious rolled in to one which makes for an amusing and fun show to wake up to every day. Thanks for all your efforts to make it such a great show. Not to mention the early starts the team have.

    Best,
    KP

  6. Hi Johnny,

Hopefully you can answer this question for me. Is there a conscious effort on your show to perpetuate assorted myths and urban legends, or are you just all a little gullible ?

Most recently we had your fascinating but sadly incorrect treatise on the origins of the phrase “rule of thumb”.

Do you check any of your sources ?

  7. Morning guys, and happy St George's Day (patron saint of understatement)...
Sorry, but Johnny's got it wrong about St Stephen's Tower. That's the little tower in the middle of the H of P: Victoria Tower is the big square tower at the far end. Big Ben's home is just called the Clock Tower. I once had the luck to meet Betty Boothroyd, and she got me a fab tour. But it's on Parliament's website too.

  10. The Marathon music is from the Oliver Reed film "The Trapper" and it kicks in when he's paddling a canoe! The lyrics are pretty interesting too.
