Mid morning snacks

Craving a snack before lunch? Try one of these quick and easy recipes.


Frozen Berry Smoothie
Mix 200g of frozen mixed berries, 150g of 0% fat Greek yogurt, 250ml of pomegranate juice and 2 tsp Splenda Brown Sugar Blend until smooth. Serve immediately in tall glasses.


Banana Blitz Smoothie

Enjoy a great start to the day, with this energy packed mid morning snack. Slice one banana, take a handful of muesli, a small tub of natural yogurt, 2 heaped tsp of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and a handful of ice, put into a liquidizer or food processor and blend. Serve immediately.


Cookie Lollipops
- Kids love making this! Use your favourite recipe to bake cookies, just replace the amount of sugar by half the amount of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend. Once cold, sandwich together the cookies using some melted chocolate, inserting a stick in the middle to make lollipops.  Leave to set completely for 1 hour. They really melt in the mouth!


Amazing Roasted Nuts

Mix SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend with a pinch of cayenne pepper, a spring of fresh rosemary and a dash of olive oil.
Take your favourite nuts, shake them in a roasting tray with the mixture and roast for 5minutes on a medium heat.


Cappucino 
       
                                         
To make 4 cups you will need:

60 cl coffee
60 cl skimmed milk
4 tsp of Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend
1 tbsp of granulated cocoa

Heat the milk and whisk until it foams. Pour hot coffee in cups, then pour the milk with the foam in each cup. Add the Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and sprinkle with cocoa. Yum!


Real hot chocolate

Break a bar of dark chocolate into pieces and place in a pan. Add 1 cup of water, 4 cups of milk and 1 tablespoon of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend. Warm slowly and stir from time to time. Serve and enjoy.


Chocolate Chip Cookies

To make 30 cookies you will need
400g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp table salt
115g margarine
120g Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla
170g semisweet chocolate chips

Method
1. Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
3. Using an electric mixer, beat the margarine and SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend until well combined. 
4. Add egg and vanilla and beat to combine, scraping down bowl.  Gradually add flour mixture and beat until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. 
5. Drop dough by tablespoons (15 ml) onto baking sheets. Press gently to flatten dough. Bake until edges are golden brown, about 7- 8 minutes. 
Cool and enjoy.
