Breakfast To Go
Ditch your usual cereal and toast combo for one of these fabulous breakfast ideas, all using Splenda Brown Sugar blend. Now there’s no excuse to miss the most important meal of the day!
French Toast
Add a continental twist to your morning with this classic French Toast recipe.
Ingredients:
1/2 loaf of French bread, cut diagonally in 1 inch slices
4 eggs
250ml milk
300ml single cream
25g butter plus extra for greasing
3 tbsp Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
Pinch ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon golden syrup
The night before, butter a baking dish and arrange slices of bread in the bottom. Take a large bowl and beat together the eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over the bread slices, cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, preheat your oven to 350F (180C, Gas Mark 4). In a small saucepan, combine the butter, Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and corn syrup (or golden syrup) and heat until bubbling. Pour over the bread and egg mixture. Bake in the oven, uncovered, for 40 minutes. There you have it, a delicious and chic breakfast!
Warm Spiced Fruit
A chilled pot of yoghurt is just the thing in summer, but now that autumn’s here we’re looking for something a little more warm and comforting. Quick and easy, this recipe is a fabulous and seasonal alternative:
Take a generous handful of raisins, some apple and pear slices, 1 tbsp of Splenda BSB and the juice of 1 lemon and place in a pan with ½ cup of water. Add a pinch of cinnamon & a pinch of nutmeg. Cook gently for 15 minutes. Allow to cool then serve with your usual Greek or natural yoghurt.
