A planned national rail strike on Bank Holiday Monday will affect some Tyne and Wear Metro services.

Trains running through Pelaw, Sunderland and South Hylton will be cancelled after 5pm for around 24 hours.

It's because Network Rail owns the line and provides power control, the rest of the Metro service will run as normal.

People going to the Foo Fighters concert at the Stadium of Light are being urged to plan their journey in advance.

Talks have been ongoing to try and avoid Monday's strike among Network Rail workers in a row over pay.
