Murder Investigation Launched After Fatal Fire

Police have launched a murder investigation after a 40-year-old man died in a flat fire in Blyth.

It happened at 11.39am on Tuesday, February 14th, when police received a report from the fire service of a fire in a flat at Nordale House.


Police and paramedics attended the scene where the body of a man was discovered. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a Home Office post mortem, Police have decided to treat the man's death as murder.

He's not been identified yet. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
