Man Charged Over Morpeth Attack

A man's been charged over an attack in Morpeth that left a 35 year old man in a serious condition in hospital.

20-year-old Aaron Robson of Silverdale Road in Cramlington has been charged with wounding with intent to causing grievous bodily harm and is due to appear before South East Northumberland Magistrates Court in Bedlington later.

It follows an attack around 3am on Sunday, March 30th, on Bridge Street in Morpeth when a 35-year-old man was injured.

He remains at the RVI in a critical condition.

Enquiries are continuing.

A man's been found unconscious on a Morpeth street.

Police were called around 3am this morning to Bridge Street.

The man aged 35 was found unconscious in the street after being assaulted by another man.

He was taken to the RVI with head injuries.

His condition is serious and potentially life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault and is helping police with their enquiries.
