Middlesbrough have parted company with manager Tony Mowbray.

The club are now searching for a new manager.

Mowbray was the longest serving boss in the Championship.

The club have only won two league games all season and lie sixteenth in the table - after taking twelve points from their first twelve games.

In a brief statement on the club's website, Middlesbrough express their gratitude for his "substantial efforts, dedication and integrity."

Assistant manager Mark Venus will take charge "until further notice."
