Man's Body Found In The River Tyne In Newcastle

A man's body's been found in the River Tyne in Newcastle.

It was pulled from the water this lunchtime near the Millennium Bridge.

He hasn't been identified yet.

In a statement, Northumbria Police said:
"Police were called to Newcastle Quayside today at 12:08 following reports of a body in the river Tyne.

Emergency services attended and a man’s body has been recovered from the water near to the Millennium Bridge on the Newcastle side.

Officers are making enquiries to establish the identity of the deceased and contact his family."
