Man Dies In Fall At Warkworth Castle

A member of staff at Warkworth Castle in Northumberland has died after falling from the castle's keep.

The 50-year-old man fell on Tuesday morning.

He was airlifted to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary where he died.

The castle, an English Heritage site, will not open to the public again until Thursday (4th July).

An English Heritage spokeswoman said:
"It is with great sadness that we can confirm the death of a member of staff at Warkworth Castle.

He was highly regarded by all his friends and colleagues here and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family at this time."
