Man Charged Over Robberies At Blyth Bookies

A man's been charged over two robberies at a Blyth bookies, which happened a day apart.

At around 7.30pm on Saturday, January 31st, a man, armed with a knife, went into Chisholm Bookmakers in Elliot Street in Blyth and stole cash from the premises.

On Friday, January 30th, at just after 11pm the bookmakers was robbed in similar circumstances.

Noone was injured in either incident and police are linking the two robberies.

26 year iold Michael Parker, of Winship Street, Blyth has been charged with robbery, possessing a knife and criminal damage.

He will appear before Mid & South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court later.
