Cheryl Denies Trouser Statement

Cheryl Cole has denied that she was attempting to make a statement about The X Factor after being spotted in trousers with a pattern that resembled the show's logo.

The axed US X Factor judge strolled through Los Angeles airport in the fitted jeans, sparking speculation that she was either mocking the show or suggesting that she had no hard feelings about her departure.

But the singer, 28, took to Twitter this morning to write: ``Promise I am not trying to send out subliminal messages to anybody through my jeans.

"They just looked cool to me... But since you mention it...''

Cole then wrote an impression of the X Factor theme tune, with: "Du do do - do doodle oo do. Du do do - do doodle oo do. Du do do - do doodle oo do. DO DO DO - DO DO.. LMHO (laughing my head off)!!!!''

The former judge was sacked from the US version of Simon Cowell's show in May and replaced by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the panel.

Last week, Cole wrote of Cowell turning 52: "He is officially in the overs category .. Hehehehehe..''
