Justin Timberlake wins four prizes on the night with Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Macklemore also winning big.

Justin Timberlake was the big winner of the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 after taking home four of the prestigious Moonman prizes home.

The 'SexyBack' star won Video Of The Year and Best Editting for 'Mirrors' as well as Best Direction for 'Suit & Tie'.

He was also presented with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard prize.

Elsewhere, Bruno Mars took home Best Male Video for 'Locked Out Of Heaven' with Taylor Swift snatching the female counterpart with 'I Knew You Were Trouble'.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won Best Hip-Hop Video for 'Can't Hold Us' and One Direction claimed the Song Of The Summer with 'Best Song Ever'. 

Selena Gomez, Pink, Thirty Seconds To Mars and Janelle Monae were also among the winners on the night.
