Summertime Ball travel news & FAQs

We've put this page together to answer the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about our Summertime Ball.

When is the Summertime Ball? Capital's Summertime Ball will be on Sunday June 7th.

Where will it be held? The Summertime Ball is taking place at London's Emirates Stadium .

Who will be playing? Artists have been announced on-air on Capital from 8am on Monday 27th April. To ensure you get our artist announcements first you should make sure you've signed up as a Capital VIP for our regular newsletters, and keep listening to Capital!

What time does the Summertime Ball start and end? Doors open at 2pm, the event will not start before 3pm and is scheduled to close at approximately 21:30.

I've already bought my tickets, or I was lucky enough to win them from Capital, when will my tickets arrive? If you're worried about where your tickets are, you should speak to your ticket supplier. You can contact Ticketmaster on 08444 999 999 or See tickets on 0115 912 9000. You will need to have the credit card you booked your tickets with available. If you've won tickets on-air with Capital we've started sending these out from the 1st June.

How do I buy tickets? Tickets have now sold out. However a strictly limited number of hospitality packages have been made available directly from the Emirates Stadium. you can contact them directly on 0845 262 0005 or tbruce@arsenal.co.uk

I'm disabled, can I get tickets to the Summertime Ball? Of course, this is being handled by the Disability Liaison Team at  the stadium itself. You can find full details including a disabled persons ticket application form here , or contact them directly on 0207 619 5050.

How old do I need to be to come to the Summertime Ball? We recommend under 16s should be accompanied by an adult 18 years and over, however we cannot enforce this.

How can I get to and from the Summertime Ball? We would like to encourage everyone to get to the event early and to travel via public transport as road closures around the venue will be in place and there is an extensive controlled parking zone for resident parking only around the venue.
Finsbury Park, Highbury & Islington, Holloway Rd and Arsenal are all within a few minutes walk from the Emirates Stadium. Please remember Holloway Rd will be closed post event and will not re-open!
Drayton Park rail will also be closed all day.
Services will run until approximately 11:30pm. But please plan your route home on www.tfl.gov.uk in advance.

Will I be able to buy food and drink at the Summertime Ball? There will be a range of food and drink outlets available throughout the event.

Is there a smoking area at the Emirates Stadium? No - the stadium is a no smoking venue and you will not be able to re-gain entrance to the stadium if you leave.

Can I bring a camera to the Summertime Ball? Of course, but be aware that professional quality recording equipment will not be allowed into the venue. We'd recommend you leave large or expensive gear at home.

Can I bring a banner to the Summertime Ball? We've been told you need to be really careful about size of banners. You can take in small flags of about a metre square supported by a plastic stick. Hand held small placards on cardboard will be ok - but they'd need to be a maximum of A2 size. It's possible the ground staff will refuse to let you carry large banners into the stadium. If that happens, they will give you a receipt for it and let you pick it up when you leave. Anything with derogatory, offensive or political comments will be confiscated.

Can I bring a chair/deck-chair/gazebo to the standing area? We're sorry, but you won't be able to bring items of furniture with you into the stadium.

How can I buy my tickets safely? We've put together more details on how to buy tickets safely in association with the Office of Fair Trading.

Is there a dress code? There's no strict dress code - dress to have fun

Can I bring my own food and drinks into the venue? Yes - you can bring in smaller items like sandwiches, snacks, plastic bottles of water etc. You can not bring in cool boxes, hampers, glass bottles, large bags etc. The ground staff may request you leave larger objects outside the venue.

Is there a roof over the standing area in the stadium? No, but we're hoping for a great summer. You can get the latest London weather forecast from Capital. We'd recommend you dress accordingly  - you may want to bring warm and waterproof clothing if it looks like rain and wind, but we're hoping for a hot one, so don't forget to bring some sun cream with you.
