Coldplay and Duffy score Ivor Novello nods
Capital favourites, Coldplay and Duffy are amongst the stars nominated for a prize at this year's Ivor Novello awards.
Chris Martin and the boys picked up nods for Most Performed Work and Best Selling British Song for their worldwide hit, 'Viva La Vida', as well as a nomination in the albums category for their LP of the same name, reports Music Week .
They'll go head-to-head in each of those three categories with Welsh soul star, Duffy, who is still riding high after her triple BRIT award win back in February.
Also on the nominations list for the awards, which honour some of the industry's most celebrated songwriters, are Manchester duo, The Ting Tings, Elbow, Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris and Aussie songstress, Gabriella Cilmi.
The awards will be held at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on Thursday 21st May.
