Capital FM's Ten Songs...We Can't Wait To Hear At The Ball

Capital rounds up a list of the ten songs we can't wait to hear at the Summertime Ball.

The Summertime Ball 2012 is fast approaching and with the excitement building we take a look at some of the most anticipated performances coming your way.

On Saturday June 9th some of the world's biggest stars will take to the stage at Wembley Stadium to perform in front of 80,000 people.

We've put together a little taster of what you can look forward to, with the likes of Katy Perry, The Wanted and Jessie J treating you to a host of jaw-dropping performances.

Katy Perry - 'Wide Awake'
'Wide Awake' was recorded for the re-release of Katy Perry’s third album, 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'. She debuted the song at Billboard Music Awards on 20th May, 2012 in an acrobatic performance where she dangled from a ribbon.. what will she do at Wembley?

The Wanted – 'Chasing The Sun'

'Chasing The Sun' was written by Example, another Summertime Ball performer, and is currently battling it out with Fun 'We Are Young' for the number 1 position on iTunes. The boys have been performing the song on TV programmes in both the UK and America in recent months including a show-stopping performance on The Voice US.

Jessie J – 'Laserlight'
Produced by and features David Guetta, the song is taken from Jessie J's extended edition of her debut album 'Who You Are' and Jessie performed the hit live on BBC's The Graham Norton Show.

Justin Bieber - 'Boyfriend'

The first single from Bieber's upcoming album Believe, 'Boyfriend' reached top ten on iTunes only a few hours after its release and debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 after selling 521,00 digital units of the single making it the second-highest debut digital sales week ever in the US. Justin gave a much-hyped performance of his lead 'Believe' single 'Boyfriend' at the Billboard Music Awards 2012, during which he gave an explosive dance breakdown alongside his backing dancers.

Flo Rida – 'Good Feeling'
The song is the lead single from his album 'Wild Ones' and was co-produced by Avicii, who used the same sample from Etta James' 'Something's Got A Hold On Me' on his song 'Levels'. The rapper gave a huge live performance of the popular single at the Logie Awards in Australia earlier this year.

Kelly Clarkson – 'Dark Side'
'Dark Side' is set to be Kelly’s third single from her fifth album 'Stronger'. She first performed the song at The Troubadour in Los Angeles in October 2011 to promote her latest album release.

Coldplay – 'Paradise'

The song has been a top 5 hit in sixteen different countries, with Coldplay performing it at the Grammys, on Saturday Night Live, The Ellen Degeneres Show and as seen her on The X Factor 2011 finale.

Usher – 'Scream'

It's the second single from his upcoming seventh studio album 'Looking 4 Myself', released after 'Climax' which he has called the polar-opposite of 'Scream': "Where 'Climax' sears and broods, 'Scream' celebrates and dances." His performance at the Billboard Awards 2012 showed Usher dancing with a masked woman, who later disappears and is replaced by an Usher lookalike for a mirrored dance routine.

Example 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me'

The 'Stay Awake' rapper filmed the music video for 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' at the Ministry of Sound nightclub in London in front of an audience of real fans, and gave a well-received performance of the song at iTunes Festival last year.

Ed Sheeran – 'Lego House'
Ed released 'Lego House as the third single from Ed Sheeran’s debut Album +, following 'You Need Me, I Don’t Need You', and 'The A Team' and gave a memorable performance of the song at this year's BRIT Awards in London. The song's music video  also starred Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint as an obsessive Ed Sheeran fan.
