Aside from the alcohol content, obviously.

But seriously, scientists have discovered an actual, real life, scientific link between tequila and weight loss.

The American Chemical Society has carried out some research into the effect of tequila on blood sugar levels and found that sugars found in the agave plant (which is what tequila is made from) aren’t digestible and therefore cannot raise your blood sugar level.

They also found that participants (in this case, mice) who were given a standard diet followed by water containing agavins had a lesser appetite than those who weren’t given any agavins.

They also had generally lower blood sugar levels and found the hormone GLP-1 present, which causes the stomach to feel fuller for longer which equals eating less.

YAY FOR TEQUILA.

Oh this? This is just Katy Perry pulling Roman Kemp a pint...

(Disclaimer: There is no scientific link that beer is good for weight loss, soz)
