How many can you manage to see at once!?
We love an optical illusion.
We could spend hours staring at them and trying to beat our own brain!
Sadly, we've never managed it so far.
The latest one that's doing our heads in is this absolute gem that was posted on Twitter by Will Kerslkae...
There are twelve black dots at the intersections in this image. Your brain won’t let you see them all at once. pic.twitter.com/ig6P980LOT— Will Kerslake (@wkerslake) September 11, 2016
Along with the image, he wrote, 'There are twelve black dots at the intersections in this image. Your brain won’t let you see them all at once.'
But whilst we still tried to outsmart our own brain by staring at the image for ages, we eventually gave in and admitted defeat.
We weren't the only ones who were left feeling confused by the whole thing either...
@wkerslake is this the human equivalent of a laser pointer for a cat? I keep chasing it... but I can't catch it....— Kurt Seifried (@kurtseifried) September 12, 2016
So why exactly can't we see all the dots at once?
Well having shared the image initially, thankfully Will posted a bit more info behind it ltoo...
For those interested in more info the 12-dot pic it is a variation of the Hermann grid from Ninio & Stevens Paper https://t.co/A5teu9qFC8— Will Kerslake (@wkerslake) September 12, 2016
Apparantly it's something to do with our brains not being able to remember something or other...we've forgotten already!
