The 'Adorn' singer speaks to Capital FM about falling on top of an audience member at the recent industry event.
Miguel has opened up about jumping on top of a fan's head during his recent performance at the Billboard Music Awards 2013.
The US star was seen attempting to leap over a section of the crowd and fell on top of a female fan.
"The truth is that in rehearsal I had done that I had made that jump a couple of times," he admitted. "It wasn't that I under-jumped, it was that the crowd…. You know what, I don't even have an explanation man.
"Everybody out there, that s*** was funny. I'm laughing at it now."
Despite being able to look back with a smile, he confessed that at the time – he was really concerned for the fan in question.
"That night and the day after I was definitely worried about the girl – more than anything worried about the girl," he said. "What a lot of people didn't see was once the camera cuts off, I like ran to the girl took her to infirmary, sat with her and made sure she was ok."
He added: "I don't really know what to say besides I'm sorry. It was just one of those moments of human error. I just have to laugh at it now."
Miguel was also asked if he thought of stopping his performance at any point.
"Yes, but that would have made it worse," he said. "There's that split second of humanity where you're like 'whoa, I know I probably just injured someone' but if I had stopped performing – this is where professionalism kicks in.
"I need people to understand that I couldn't stop that. I had to keep going and then handle the humane part of it."
He concluded: "I won't be doing it again."
