Live Nation has announced a new deal which will see concerts held at the venue this year.
The London 2012 Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Olympic Stadium will host live concerts in 2013, it has been announced.
A new deal, which sees Live Nation take exclusive rights over the iconic venues, will see this year's Hard Rock Calling And Wireless festivals move from Hyde Park.
John Reid, President of Concerts at Live Nation Europe, said the company was thrilled with the acquisition.
"We are delighted to be staging music concerts at the London Olympics venue, which last year became a globally-recognized site for outstanding performances – both in sport and music," he revealed. "Over the coming weeks, we intend to announce some major concerts with world-renowned artists, to firmly establish the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as the centerpiece for great live music in Europe."
There was equal excitement from the London Legacy Development Corporation who called the deal an "important stepping stone" for a long-term programme of events.
Chief Executive, Dennis Hone, said: "I'm delighted that leading global companies like Live Nation are interested in the stadium and the Park. We're thrilled to be partnering with them this summer."
"This deal marks an important stepping stone towards securing a long-term programme of fantastic events that will make Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park a leading destination for Londoners and those who come from further afield."
The news comes following the controversy of some Hyde Park shows in 2012, which were threatened due to the ground flooding.
