Rules

First Transpennine Express on Capital Manchester
April 2014
RULES

The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at www.capitalfm.com/manchester/terms-conditions/competitions (the “Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Global (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions) apply to ‘First Transpennine Express’ radio competition (the “Competition") which will run from Tuesday 22nd April to Friday 25th April 2014 on Capital Manchester.

Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.

Details of the Competition:

1.  To enter the Competition an Entrant must send a text message with the word bag to 83958. Text messages will be charged at standard network rates. The opening and closing times of the Text Message Line will be given out on air.

2.  All Entrants selected to play will be required to talk to the presenters and a call will be recorded with the presenter/s and played on-air. If the caller doesn’t answer their phone, is driving at the time of the call and is unable to pull over, or cannot continue the call for any reason, the call may be terminated and another Entrant selected at random.

3.  Each day a listener would be recruited who would have 40 seconds to collect as many points as they could by answering a set of topical questions. Each question answered correctly amounts 100 points, but each question answered incorrectly means 100 points are deducted.

Each day, if the listener collects over 500 points they can exchange them a luxury shopping weekend in Edinburgh including accommodation & £250 Harvey Nics shopping vouchers and first class train travel.

However, each daily winner will also be added to our ‘leaderboard’ and at the end of the week, the two listeners with the most points will go head to head to become our Nectar Point millionaire (and win an additional £5,000 on top of the prize they have already won). The two players will be asked a question and whoever gets the closest to the right answer will win.

4.  The winner is determined by giving the correct answer. The winner will be announced/notified on air.

Eligibility:

5.  All entrants must be aged 18 or over to play.

6.  Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition.

Prize:

7.  The winner will receive overnight accommodation with breakfast for the winner plus one person at the Apex International Hotel for two people in Edinburgh, £250.00 Harvey Nichols vouchers and 1,000,000 Nectar points. Travel to Edinburgh provided by the client. Travel excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays, August and Bank Holidays (both UK and Scotland).

Hotel is classed as a 4 star and is based on two people sharing a twin room with ensuite facilities on a bed and breakfast basis.

All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of our initial correspondence with them.

Winner of nectar card points will need to be a Nectar cardholder to receive their prize. If a winner of a Nectar points prize is not a Nectar cardholder they will need to register for a Nectar card and notify Nectar of their valid Nectar card number by telephoning Nectar on 020 7308 6482 within 4 weeks of winning the prize in order to be eligible to receive the points. If they do not do so within this time period, they will be disqualified from winning the prize.

Winners must provide all necessary contact details and any other relevant details requested by the Promoter at the time of winning or after winning by the Promoter or Nectar, including their Nectar card number if appropriate, in order for the prize to be fulfilled. The winner acknowledges that their contact details, Nectar card number and any other required details may be passed to third parties who may contact them regarding their prize in order for their prize to be fulfilled.

Results of the competitions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternatives are available (in whole or in part).

8.  Prizes are non-transferable.

9.  Global reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize at its absolute discretion.
