Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, has lost a bid to go to the highest court in the land to challenge an order that he can never be released.

The serial killer's latest attempt to have his ``whole life'' sentence overturned has been rejected by judges at the Court of Appeal.

He had wanted to take his case to the Supreme Court after a judge in the High Court ruled last year, that he must spend his whole life in jail.

64 year old Sutcliffe, who's real name is Peter Coonan, was given 20 life sentences at the Old Bailey in 1981.
