A manhunt is underway in Greater Manchester after a convicted rapist went on the run.

Curtis Andrew Burke was released from prison for rape and has breached his prison licence conditions and hasn’t been seen since.

He was jailed in January 2004 and released in June this year.

He was last seen on 3 August when he left a hostel in Chorlton.

Burke has links to areas across Greater Manchester.

Detective Inspector Debbie Conlon Houldershaw from Greater Manchester Police's Sex Offender Management Unit, said: "Burke is a convicted sex offender, so it is important we warn our community that he has breached the terms of his licence and is currently wanted.

"We are doing everything we can to find him and recall him to prison to finish his sentence.

"I would urge anyone who knows of his whereabouts to call police immediately and do not approach him."
