Nine-week old baby rescued from Manchester house fire

A nine-week old baby's been rescued from a house fire in Benchill overnight, along with 3 other people.

Two teenagers and a woman were told by a 999 operator to stay in a bedroom with the child, until firecrews arrived.

It started in a hallway of the house on Cedars Road in Benchill.

Fire fighters were on the scene within two minutes of receiving the call just before 11 o'clock.

They were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital as a precaution.

An investigation is underway.
