Police have seized a million pounds worth of speed in late night raids in Bamber Bridge and Wigan.

Last night police raid a house in Firbank, Bamber Bridge, where 17 kilos of speed was found.

A 38 year old man from Bamber Bridge and a 39-year-old man from Leyland were arrested.

It’s after another raid at a home on Downall Green Road, Wigan, where police found 20 kilos of speed and arrested a 56 year old man.

All three arrested men are being questioned on suspicion of possession and intent to supply a controlled substance.

Detective Inspector, Graham Coates, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Southern Division, said: ”The two raids and three arrests that have been made are a result  of a protracted enquiry into the supply of amphetamines in Lancashire and surrounding areas.

“To have found and seized drugs worth at least £1million is a substantial achievement and will help us in our efforts to stifle amphetamine suppliers in the county making Lancashire a safer place to live.”
