35 year old Dawn Makin from Bury has pleaded to the manslaughter of Chloe Burke on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

The little girl's body was found with stab wounds at the family home in Lea Mount Drive on February 17th last year.

Makin, who worked as a nurse, was at the scene when police arrived and was taken to hospital, where she has remained since.

It is understood she had attempted to take her own life.

She was later charged with her daughter's murder. She appeared in court in a wheelchair today and plea to manslaughter was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service today.

She was bailed back to the hospital and will be sentenced on August 30.
