Man Arrested After Homeless Man Found Dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a homeless man was discovered in a derelict warehouse.

Police were called to the building in Partington Street, Oldham, shortly after 6.45am yesterday where the body of 38-year-old Matthew Alexander Barrett was found.

A Home Office post-mortem examination concluded Mr Barrett died from multiple injuries.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ``Officers from GMP's Major Incident Team are now investigating and they have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody for questioning.''
