Two More Arrested In Manchester Exploitation Inquiry

Two more men have been arrested following an investigation into child sexual exploitation.

On Tuesday 14 June 2011, GMP’s Major Incident Team (MIT) and Stockport division carried out an operation that resulted in a total of 12 arrests.

Focussing chiefly on child sexual exploitation, the investigation involves around 100 detectives and is one of the largest ever carried out by the Serious Crime Division.

A further two men were today, Wednesday 15 June 2011, arrested on suspicion of human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation and remain in police custody for questioning, bringing the total number of arrests to 14.

The remaining 12 men previously arrested have been released on bail pending further inquiries until September 2011.
