Wrinkly style
Suddenly it's cool to dress like your grandparents and getting the look couldn't be easier. Follow these simple steps and follow in the footsteps of Alexa Chung and the Arctic Monkeys.
1. Step one is head gear. You've got to get this right and we aren't taking about a purple rinse here. Fellas grab your flat caps and dames grab the hat that looks closest to a tea cosy and pop that on your noggin. For a good selection of hats we recommend Beyond Retro just off Brick Lane. They have a big selection of appropriate wear that will keep your little head nice and toastie when it get cold and you can't afford to put your heater on.
2. Getting the clothes is easy peasey - any charity shop (our favourite is Oxfam on Goodge Street ) can have a great selection of knit wear and florals. Think layers, think warmth, think Grandma.
3. When it comes to shoes, 'Granny Chic' is the forefront of comfort. Ecco have a good variety of shoes, from a good old fashioned lace up to a Velcro dream for when your hands are a little stiff and a lace seems like a nightmare. Ecco down Oxford Street is nice and easy to get to and the bus will drop you off just outside.
4. YAPs love their jewels and anything that is old and sparkly gets the vote. We suggest raiding your parent’s jewellery box or heading over to East Street Market as there are some great stalls selling fun bling.
We hope you have found this helpful... please leave us your 'Granny Chic' tips below as we love hearing from you young folk.
