The Lazy way to gorgeous

Forget the gym, wrap yourself in cling film and slap some mud on your face. Getting gorgeous for the New Year need not be strenuous; there are a whole host of fat sucking treatments out there that will not require trainers or that terrible dance music you find in aerobics classes.

It's a New Year and time for a new you, get you hair done, have your hands pampered and feel like a new person without the effort.

In London we are spoilt for choice with fantastic salons that will make us feel like red carpet stars in a few hours. Here are some of our favourite treatments across the city.

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Hair and Beauty Spa - This beauty spa is a haven in the busy city centre around Bond Street. We particularly like their body treatment enriched with vitamins and essential oils and are applied with traditional healing techniques. They feel fantastic and we definitely left with a sexy glow. Capital listener Lucy from South Kensington says, 'I had the best ever St Tropez tanning treatment here. It was really excellent. Completely brown, all over flawless, even between my toes. Loved the atmosphere and found the staff very professional.'

Charis Beauty Clinic - Even super celebrities like Kate Moss struggle to keep control of there cellulite and with a 40 minute G5 Ultratone treatment you can battle yours too. At £40 a pop it's cheaper than the other salons and you get excellent service. A great pampering treat that relaxes your muscles at the same time as making you slimmer. Capital listener Suzanne says, 'This is a very intimate experience with no other distractions as it is a very small salon.'

Sisa Beauty Clinic - This is another small beauty spa, this time in the up and coming Stoke Newington. They offer a whole range of sucking and pummelling treatments including a treatment called Oxyjet. This is another anti cellulite treatment which, as its name suggests, gives you an extra boost of oxygen into your skin and body. We left feeling clear and lighter. Its £80 for the full body treatment so maybe we'll just try it the once.

The Sanctuary - Now you may have been browsing the shelves at Boots and notices some pretty looking orange bottles. These contain the nicest smelling body and face treats around and in London we are lucky enough to have their health club, right here in Covent Garden. Our favourite is the Hammam Rasul treatment, where you get wrapped in mud in a steam room and relax while the toxins are drawn out your body. Rachel from Kingston says, 'from facials to toning skin wraps to massage – you’ve got so much to choose from and all the treatments I’ve had are great – the facial and reflexology combination session is particularly good!'

If you know if a great treatment, spa or health club around London let us know and spread the wonderful words of getting gorgeous.

  3. any1 tried threading before, my local salon does it but I'm a little to scared to try first time. It's a lot cheaper than waxing though.
