Summertime Ball 2012: Full Performance Round-Up And Setlists

This year's summer extravaganza has come to a triumphant close at Wembley Stadium.

Capital FM's Summertime Ball 2012 was brought to a triumphant close by Katy Perry in what was a fantastic day inside Wembley Stadium today (9th June).

The fans had been queueing outside since last night and charged to the front of the stage as soon as the doors open on the sun-soaked venue.

Coldplay kicked off the day with a hit laden set that included the opening number 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' as well as their Rihanna collaboration 'Princess Of China'.

Front man Chris Martin also announced to the crowd: "We're Justin Bieber's Dads," teasing the Canadians set later in the day.

Second on the stage was former American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson who used her powerful vocals to command the stage and brought the audience to their feet.

She played such hits as 'Mr. Know It All', new single 'Dark Side' and finished with a triumphant version of 'My Life Would Suck Without You'.

Rapper Flo Rida was next to stage and ended up joining the crowd topless before playing 'Good Feeling' after chants of his name.

He also handed out whistles during his song of the same name and finished the set with the crowd screaming for more.

The next act to take to the stage was Mimia star Pitbull who produced a set full of his biggest hits including the Chris Brown collaboration 'International Love'.

Wearing a stylish black suit, the star had the 80,000 fans singing along all the way - especially during his finale 'Give Me Everything'.

Next up was Example who got Wembley Stadium jumping with such hits as 'Kickstarts', 'Won't Go Quietly' and the huge sounds of BRIT Award nominated track 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me'.

The star asked the crowd to make some noise for themselves and Capital FM and even asked the audience to be involved in a competition to see who could jump the highest.

The next section was the breakers part of the show where Bajan stars Cover Drive, Lawson and Conor Maynard all performed a track each.

Cover Drive gave an outing to their Vodafone Big Top 40 number two smash hit 'Twilight' with lead singer Amanda leading the band through a polished performance.

Brighton based 19-year-old Conor got the crowd jumping and singing along to his hit 'Can't Say No' and four-piece Lawson delivered a triumphant rendition of their top ten hit 'When She Was Mine'.

R&B superstar Usher then produced a dance-fuelled energetic set as he showcased his experience as one of the top performers in the business.

The American rose from the floor to perform his Will.i.am featuring single 'OMG' dressed in a black overcoat and top hat.

The star began to strip off as he launched into some of his biggest singles including 'Burn', 'Without You' and new single 'Scream'.

Rita Ora was next to take to the stage as she performed her Vodafone Big Top 40 number one single 'R.I.P' and the DJ Fresh produced 'Hot Right Now'.

Dizzee Rascal then made a surprise appearance when he arrived to perform his new single 'The Power' before Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole rose from the floor to shock the crowd with an outing of her new single 'Call My Name' which had caused the venue to erupt.

The star wore a memorable and truly eye-catching multi-coloured neon catsuit for her performance and shouted "Say My Name" as she left the stage.

British stars The Wanted were up next as they produced a polished and triumphant set making their third appearance at the Summertime Ball.

Performing such singles as 'Lightning', 'Glad You Came' and the Example penned 'Chasing The Sun' the huge crowd sung every word and were screaming for the stars making their return after a hugely successful trip to the US.

Shortly after the British stars finished, Jessie J made her return to the event and was all smiles throughout and joked about not wanting to "fall over".

Rizzle Kicks also joined the star for n energetic rendition of 'Price Tag' before the emotional ballad 'Who You Are.

The Voice UK coach finished off with the Vodafone Big Top 40 number one 'Domino' before Ed Sheeran entered the Stadium.

The 'Lego House' singer was chatty throughout and brought his biggest hits to the event including new single 'Small Bump' and debut 'The A Team'.

Canadian star Justin Bieber was next on stage as he had the crowd screaming throughout with an energetic performance as he made his first live appearance in the UK in 2012.

Arriving on stage wearing a Union Jack vest the Canadian was also joined throughout the set by mentor Usher and his signed act Carly Rae Jepsen.

Katy Perry brought the event to a close with a comic book inspired performance featuring awe-inspiring pyrotechnics, colourful costumes and all of her biggest hits to date.

The 'Part Of Me' singer arrived in a polka dot outfit and led the crowd through songs like 'Teenage Dream', 'Hot n Cold' and a surprise cover of Queen's 'We Will Rock You', before closing out this year's Capital FM Summertime Ball with a rousing performance of her Vodafone Big Top 40 number one single 'California Gurls'.
