The 'Taking Over Me' stars have taken to Twitter to thank Capital for an amazing performance at the first night of the Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena.

Lawson took to Twitter to thank Capital FM after making their debut Jingle Bell Ball performance last night (8th December).

'Standing In The Dark' four-piece Andy Brown, Ryan Fletcher, Joel Peat and Adam Pitts said it was emotional to hear the crowd singing back their lyrics.

"What a gig last night! O2 arena! Thank you capital FM," the boys tweeted after their performance in front of the 16,000-strong crowd, where they played biggest hits on stage at the O2 Arena, as well as covers of 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepson and Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger'.

They also uploaded a picture of the crowd, capturing the view live from the stage as they performed.

The boys were star-struck by Taylor Swift yesterday, as guitarist Joel Peat confessed he thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

The 'Love Story' singer repaid the compliment by watching the band from the sidelines during their performance.

Day two of the Jingle Bell Ball today (9th December) will see Girls Aloud, Pink, The Wanted, Rita Ora, Conor Maynard, Example and Calvin Harris all perform for the thousands of fans at London's O2 Arena.
