The Way
Leading a comfortable existence in California, Tom (Martin Sheen) is a well-off ophthalmologist - but he's never seen eye to eye with his son Daniel (Emilio Estevez).
When he learns that Daniel has died while walking a pilgrim trail in the Pyrenees, Tom flies to France to bring back his son's body.
On arrival he meets the local Police Captain who explains that Daniel was walking the Camino de Santiago, or The Way of Saint James. It's an 800-kilometre trek to the Cathedral de Santiago in northern Spain and Tom decides to walk it himself as a tribute to his son.
Despite trying to stay alone, Tom is befriended by a jovial Dutchman (Yorick van Wageningen), a cynical Canadian woman (Deborah Kara Unger) and an eccentric Irish writer (James Nesbitt).
Like Tom, they all have their own reasons for walking the Camino...
