Taylor Swift BRIT Awards 2015 Performance

The biggest night in British music took place in London last night, with some stand out tracks from the last year taking the limelight.

Here is Capital's ULTIMATE list of the tracks that defined #BRITs2015 - from the Best British Single, as voted for by Capital listeners, to standout performances and multi-award winners.

You can download the best of the BRIT Awards live performances FREE from Google Play, with a donation going to War Child for every download!

Taylor Swift - 'Blank Space'

Taylor opened the show with an incredible performance of her slightly insane hit from her latest album, '1989'.

Sam Smith - 'Lay Me Down'

We're writing this through the tears! Sam's emotional performances of this already raw track left us in tatters!

Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars – 'Uptown Funk'

The longest reigning Big Top 40 no. 1 EVER has been the standout track of 2015 so far! The phenomenal collaboration between Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars has had massive worldwide success - so it's no surprise it won 'Best British Single' with Capital & Google Play!

Ed Sheeran feat. Rudimental – 'Bloodstream'

Another standout performance from the night! Ed Sheeran dropped his amazing collaboration with Rudimental this month, but it was just him and loop pedal on the stage at the BRITs. Seriously, you won't believe how AMAZING this guy is live!

Rita Ora – 'I Will Never Let You Down'

We know that Rita will never let us down when it comes to fashion, and her red carpet outfit for this year's BRITs was no exception! Check it out here while you download her Big Top 40 chart-topping hit!

Years & Years - 'King'

The lads may have missed out on 'Critics' Choice' at the year's awards, but it doesn't stop 'King' being one of our favourite tracks on the Capital playlist right now!

Paloma Faith - 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This'

She may have had a long and rambling acceptance speech for her first EVER BRIT Award, but we'll let her off because her live performance of her huge hit blew us away!

Sia - 'Chandelier'

She may have missed out on 'Best International Female Solo Artist' to our TayTay, but that doesn't stop Chandelier being one INCREDIBLE song!

Pharrell Williams - 'Happy'

The winner of 'Best International Male Solo Artist' had one of the BIGGEST tracks of the past year - so we couldn't miss a chance to have another 'Happy' dance! We're totally pretending we're Minions from Despicable Me 2, too!

Hozier - 'Bring Me To Church'

He may have lost out to Pharrell for 'Best International Male Solo Artist', but Hozier's biggest hit is still riding high on the Vodafone Big Top 40!

Take That - 'Let In The Sun'

Kanye's explicit performance was definitely a tough act to follow, but Gary, Mark & Howard still managed to bring some MORE pyro to the BRIT Awards stage for the live version their upcoming single, 'Let In The Sun'.

George Ezra - 'Budapest'

Another knockout performance from some true British talent!

5 Seconds of Summer - 'Don't Stop'

Forget Foo Fighters, the best International Group in our eyes are Ashton, Luke, Calum and Michael! #5SOSFam!

One Direction - 'You & I'

The boys may be in Japan, but that didn't stop big boss Simon Cowell from accepting their award for 'Best British Video' for this track!

Clean Bandit - 'Rather Be'

One of the BIGGEST British tracks of the past year is also the reason we fell in love with fresh new vocalist, Jess Glynne!
