BRIT Awards 2015: Best British Single Nominations List

The 10 nominees for Best British Single with Capital have been revealed featuring some of the biggest Vodafone Big Top 40 hits of the past 12 months.

The 2015 BRITs will celebrate some of the biggest pop anthems to hit the charts over the past 12 months as some of music's finest battle it out for the title of Best British Single with Capital.

The winner will be revealed at this year's event taking place on Wednesday 25th February at London's 02 Arena. Keep it Capital for your chance to win tickets to this year's event.

 

BEST BRITISH SINGLE NOMINEES 2015

'Summer' - Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris dropped this ABSOLUTE anthem on us back in March 2014 and the song went on to be one of the biggest dancefloor tracks of the year, no doubt by the superstar DJ's 'Summer' themed music video, Calvin's incredible bassline... and his return to being on vocals.

 

'Rather Be' - Clean Bandit Feat. Jess Glynne

Clean Bandit cemented themselves as one of the biggest new artists of the year in 2014 with 'Rather Be', finding themselves at number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 for WEEKS on end, and giving people a truly original sound to dance along with in the clubs.

 

'I Got U' - Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones

Duke Dumont's dropped 'I Got U' back in January last year, and it went on to be a mainstay in the clubs and on-air, with the song IMMEDIATELY giving everyone the partying vibe.

 

'Thinking Out Loud' - Ed Sheeran

In one of the biggest surprises of the year, Ed Sheeran got his dance moves on, ballroom style, for the beautiful music video for this standout track from his album 'X', as well as scoring another number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 with this honest, and endlessly romantic, single.

 

'Ghost' - Ella Henderson

Former X Factor star Ella Henderson made sure everyone knew what a talent she is in 2014 when she burst onto the scene in June with 'Ghost', a superb pop track written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder and totally owned by Ella's amazing vocals.

 

'Budapest' - George Ezra

George Ezra was the UK's critical darling last year after dropping his debut album 'Wanted On Voyage', but it was the record's lead single 'Budapest' that got in everyone's heads and showcased the incredible talent of this fresh new artist.

 

'Uptown Funk' - Mark Ronson Feat. Bruno Mars

This anthem is STILL number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 after five weeks, and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' team-up track shows no sign of slowing down. Between the funky beat, Bruno's top-notch vocals and the SERIOUSLY cool music video, it's no surprise everyone's loving this one.

 

'My Love' - Route 94 Feat. Jess Glynne

February saw the arrival of Route 94's team-up with Jess Glynne on 'My Love' and the two went on to score a big hit with the track, landing themselves a number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 in the process.

 

'Stay With Me' - Sam Smith

One of the biggest songs of the past year by far, Sam Smith's single 'Stay With Me' well and truly marked the UK star as one of the most exciting artists of the moment, and gave him success on both sides of the Atlantic.

 

'Nobody To Love' - Sigma

It turns out that remixing Kanye West's 'Bound 2' with some new vocals and an incredible fresh sound worked wonder for Sigma, who's hit 'Nobody To Love' was a massive smash in 2014.

 


The BRIT Awards 2015 take place on Wednesday 25th February at London's O2 Arena. This year's event will be hosted by Ant & Dec.
