Police have released a video of an armed robbery in Ilkeston where masked men armed with a gun stole cash and tied up two women.

Two men dressed in black clothing with balaclavas over their faces forced their way into One Stop, in Charlotte Street, with what was believed to be a gun.

They threatened two female members of staff and forced one to remove a large amount of cash from within the store.

The offenders then tied up the two women and left through a rear door, which leads onto Grass Street, off Charlotte Street.

The armed robbery took place at about 5.30am on Thursday, September 11.

CCTV footage of the offence has now been released by police in a bid to track down the robbers.

Detective Inspector Donna Sisson, from Ilkeston CID, said: “The two women at the shop were getting ready to open up for the day when they were confronted by these two robbers.

“The robbery itself happened fairly quickly but it has had a much longer-term impact on the two members of staff, who were left terrified after the ordeal.

“It will take some time for them to come to terms with it, and it is vital that we track down the two men responsible and bring them to justice.

“We hope that by showing this footage, someone might recognise the walk or the mannerisms of the offenders, and we want to hear from anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they think it is.”
