Traffic Advise Around Download Festival

People heading to the Download Festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire or going to the Airport this weekend are being asked to plan their journey and allow plenty of time to get to the event.

People who are not heading to the festival or that area are also being advised to seek alternative routes to avoid experiencing delays.

It's thought around 50,000 people are expected be in the arena during the three day rock concert being staged from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 June, and surrounding roads are likely to be very busy.

 

Temporary Imposition of One-Way System

A one-way system will be in operation on the main entrance to East Midlands
Airport from its junction with the A453 to the end of the adopted highway. The
remaining section of this main entrance is private and will be subject to similar
restrictions by agreement with East Midlands Airport and so therefore does not
form part of this Order. The one-way system will operate in a generally northerly
direction.

A one-way system will be in operation on that section of Melbourne Road, Isley
Walton (sometimes known as Melbourne Lane) from its junction with the A453 at
Isley Walton to its junction with Slade Lane, Wilson. The one-way system will
operate in a generally westerly direction or in a generally easterly direction, as
required.

A one-way system will be in operation on that section of the A453 from the traffic
island at Pegasus Business Park, Castle Donington to its junction with Melbourne
Road, Isley Walton (sometimes known as Melbourne Lane). The one-way
system will operate in a generally westerly direction or a generally easterly
direction as required.

A one-way system will be in operation on that section of the A453 from the traffic
island at Gelscoe Lane, Breedon on the Hill, to its junction with Melbourne Road,
Isley Walton (sometimes known as Melbourne Lane). The one-way system will
operate in a generally westerly direction or a generally easterly direction, as
required.

A one-way system will be in operation on that length of road From the A453
Walton Hill to Hill Top from a point 10 metres north of the main entrance to
Donington Park to the Hill Top Island, Castle Donington, (sometimes known as
Aero Park Island). The one-way system will operate in a generally southerly
direction or in a generally northerly direction, as required.

Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from the main entrance to Nottingham
East Midlands Airport on to the A453 between 0600 hours on Wednesdays and
1900 hours on Mondays

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right on that length of road From The A453
Walton Hill to Hill Top onto the A453 (Walton Hill, Isley Walton) between 0600
hours on Wednesday and 1900 hours on Mondays.

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from the exit gates of the East Car Parks
onto the A453.

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from the A453 onto an unnamed road
which runs between Ashby Road (A453), Castle Donington and The Green,
Diseworth.

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from the A453 Ashby Road, Castle
Donington to Grimes Gate, Diseworth.

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from the unnamed road which runs
between the Ashy Road, (A453) Castle Donington, The Green, Diseworth and
Ashby Road (A453) Castle Donington.

No vehicle will be permitted to turn right from Grimes Gate, Diseworth onto
Ashby Road, Castle Donington

Temporary Prohibition of Left Turn

No vehicle will be permitted to turn left from the Car Park exit, between
Melbourne Road, Isley Walton and the road leading From the A453 Walton Hill to
Hill Top, Castle Donington onto the A453, Walton Hill, Isley Walton

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

That length of road between A453 from Walton Hill to Moor Lane, Breedon on the
Hill to Main Street, Breedon on the Hill, from its junction with the A453 for a
distance of approximately 260 metres to the entrance at Tonga Station, as
required.

Walton Hill to Hill Top, Castle Donington and Hill Top, Castle Donington to its
junction with Diseworth Road, Castle Donington

A temporary 40mph speed limit will be imposed on Melbourne Road, Isley
Walton from the A453, Walton Hill to the County boundary.
