Police investigate marked car crash

Nottinghamshire Police is investigating a crash between a police driver-training vehicle and a motorcyclist in Derby Road, Nottingham, yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 2 March).

The police vehicle, a marked Ford Focus Estate, was being driven under blue lights by a student officer when it was involved in a collision with the motorcyclist outside Canning Circus Police Station at around 3pm.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 64-year-old Nottingham man, was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, where he is being treated for a fractured leg.

The collision is being investigated by Nottinghamshire Police's Crash Investigation Unit on behalf of the force's Professional Standards Directorate, and the Independent Police Complaints Commission have been informed of the incident.
