Man In Court Over Shepshed Murder

A man has appeared before Leicester Magistrates Court accused of murdering a pensioner.

36-year-old Stuart Fredrick Mayes, from Stapleford, Nottinghamshire was charged with murdering Maria Mayes, 67. 

Leicestershire Police found her body at an address in Rockingham Close, Shepshed, Loughborough, at 2.32am on Saturday 11 October. 

She had been stabbed.

Another woman, aged 33, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, where she remains in a stable condition. 

Stuart Mayes will go before Leicester Crown Court on October 27th.
