Two brothers and their dad have appeared in court, charged with the murders of two teenagers and a baby, after a flat fire in Derbyshire.

43-year-old Peter Eyre and Anthony Eyre, aged 21, of Central Avenue, Sandiacre and 24-year-old Simon Eyre, of New Tythe Street, Long Eaton have been remanded in custody.

17-year-old old Amy Smith, her baby daughter Ruby-Grace and friend, Edward Green, also 17, died from smoke inhalation in Langley Mill on Sunday.

Around a dozen members of the deceased's families sat and watched the hearing at Chesterfield Magistrates Court, which only lasted for two minutes. Some wiped away tears as Mr Davison addressed the defendants.

Anthony, Peter and Simon Eyre all stood behind glass in the dock and spoke only to give their names and addresses and to confirm that they understood what the district judge was saying.

Anthony Eyre was wearing a blue t-shirt and black track suit trousers, his dad was wearing a blue t-shirt and grey track suit trousers and Simon Eyre was wearing a grey hoodie with black trousers.

All three have short dark hair and were accompanied in the dock by three security guards, who separated them.
