"Despicable" Attack - Man Has Serious Face Injuries

Police release pictures of two men they want to talk to after assault in Loughborough.

Police wish to identify these men after assault in Loughborough Detectives investigating a serious assault in Loughborough have released CCTV images of two men they wish to identify and trace in connection with the incident. 

The incident took place at about 8pm on Tuesday May 22 near the Sainsbury?s petrol station in Ashby Road. The victim was driving into the station when three men stood in front of his car blocking his way. 

The victim got out of the vehicle and was then assaulted by one of the men, he sustained serious injuries to his face and was treated in hospital. 

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Kristine Howe is investigating the incident, she said: 

This was a despicable crime against a man who was going about his own business, the victim has sustained very serious injuries to his face which will require further medical treatment. 

The CCTV images we are issuing are very good quality and we hope someone will be able to identify the men and contact the police. We would also urge the men in the images to come forward so we can move this investigation forward.
