Building Merge Not Jobs Merge

Capital's been told front line fire and police staff will not be merged in Derbyshire despite a joint headquarters being approved.

Plans for the £15m building got appoved yesterday and staff will start working there in two years.

Fire and police staff in similar departments will be working next to each other in the new building.

Officials say employees will be able to share best practice and have access to each other's expertise.
